Code Orange are one of four new bands announced for Bloodstock 2019 in celebration of the most metal holiday of the year. Joining the hardcore punk crew at Catton Park next year are Skeletonwitch, Eluveitie and Rotting Christ as the Bloodstock bill continues to grow.
Making their debut appearance at Bloodstock looks to be a major moment for Code Orange as Jamie Morgan says “We’ve been wanting to play Bloodstock for years and are excited to bring the hurt back to the UK!” Anyone who caught the band supporting Trivium earlier in the year will be well aware of the madness the band are sure to bring next summer.
The rather aptly named Skeletonwitch also join the Saturday main stage bill. The Ohio-based band will be back at Bloodstock for the first time since 2011; having reinvented themselves with sixth album ‘Devouring Radiant Light’ released earlier this year.
On Thursday night Rotting Christ will open the festival, headlining the Sophie Lancaster stage. It is expected that the blackened death metallers will release the follow up to 2016’s ‘Rituals’ this winter, with Mainman Sakis promising ‘a brand new setlist’ for the show next year.
Eluveitie also return to Catton Park to headline the Sophie stage on Sunday night. A decade has passed since the folk metal overlords have performed at Bloodstock and are currently preparing to release a special 10th anniversary edition of their classic ‘Slania’ in November.
These four acts will join the previously announced headliners Sabaton and Scorpions, along with Children of Bodom, Soilwork, Cradle of Filth, Dee Snider, Queensryche, and Hypocrisy on the Catton Park stages next August.
