Interview With Charlie From Seething Akira

Hey guys, I’m gonna throw the most generic question out first…How did Seething Akira come into being?

Charlie had been producing hiphop for some years previously, but really wanted to delve into his love for live performances and metal. He was introduced to Kit who was a vocalist in previous metals bands, thus Seething Akira was created.

I have to ask, where did the name come from?

Ah man, we do get this one a lot! At the time of conception Charlie picked it out of the air. He’s a huge fan of Manga, and had a poster of the movie Akira on his wall….. the lead character looked grumpy… seething even…. You get where this is going 😊

What are your influences and who are your musical icons?

Prodigy, Rage against the machine, Dolly Parton and of course Linkin Park among so many others!

You guys have just played Mammothfest. How cool was that?

It was great! Super late being the after party, but we had a group stick around to get sweaty with us! Those are the people you really play for.

Are there plans for a new record at any point?

Oh yes, very much so! A new single is imminent, with our debut album due Jan/feb next year. We hope to blow your primark socks off.

You guys have recently been playing everywhere by the looks of things. Can you let the people know any more upcoming dates and where you’re gonna be for those?

So, we ‘might’ be playing Brighton again soon….Oh, and we’re off out to Belgium late December for 6Kfest.

What do you guys do outside of music that contributes to your musicality? E.g. watching shit horror movies for inspiration…

Jesus, well you kinda hit the nail on the head there. We’re mega into our movies, and horrors at that! Film is actually a huge influence to some of our electronic sounds.

What CD is in your car right now, come on! Even if it’s embarrassing?

Did you just say CD? I’ve read about those in books! Just kidding, It’s actually Sempiturnal by Bring me the Horizon.

And finally, what does the future hold for Seething Akira? Where do you see yourselves in 5 years?

Hopefully we’re all in rehab or church…. It’s one or the other for all broken rock stars.
