New Music Roundup – 5th March 2026 – Feat. Carne, meltcitizen, With Teeth And More

CARNE – Polly’s Desires

Release Date: 25th February 2026

Moody alt-rock, with a tinge of nu-metal, sees British outfit CARNE churn through their fourth single. The combination of those nu-metal tones combined vocalist Carmen Mellino’s 90s-inspired vocals give the track a delightfully nostalgic feel while not quite sounding like anything you’ve listened to before. ‘Polly’s Desires’ feels like it could have been used in a rom-com soundtrack about 20 years ago. This is a compliment of the highest order given how strong those soundtracks were.

meltcitizen – daisy eyesore

Release Date: 19th January 2026

It’s just the one guy that makes up the entirety of meltcitizen but that doesn’t stop the energy that songs like ‘daisy eyesore’ expel as soon as they hit your ears. There’s a rawness that often comes from one-person projects that is present here, both vocally and musically. A chaos that feels like it’s sometimes bullied out when bands sit round a table and write. Here though, you get pure punky energy with a modern feel.

With Teeth – Self-Made Defeat

Release Date: 7th November 2025

Raspy British punk sees ‘Self-Made Defeat’ kick off 2026 for With Teeth, a band who are hot on the heels of some of the biggest names in British punk right now. If you’re liking Snayx, Kid Kapichi, even Soft Play, ‘Self-Made Defeat’, with it’s kick in the ribs to the ailing Conservative party, is the exact sort of chanting, bouncing track you need to be blaring loud for all to hear.

Soma Sema – Atheist In A Foxhole

Release Date: 26th January 2026

Taking aim at a world that seems to be burning as people stand and watch, Soma Sema are a Canadian band that are using their music to vent their frustration. Elements of alt-rock and even touches of the softer end of metalcore can be found on ‘Atheist In A Foxhole’, a track that at just under three minutes feels like it has more to say. Luckily there’s an EP if you’re itching for more.

hounding. – heaven

Release Date: 23rd January 2026

Picking parts of pretty much any genres in and around pop-punk/post-hardcore, hounding.’s latest track, ‘heaven’ starts with a burst and maintains that energy throughout, even through choruses that soar more than bounce. ‘heaven’ is the sort of track you’ll be absolutely gagging to be stood in a field, beer in hand, singing along without a care in the world. Roll on summer.
