New Music Roundup – 26th November 2025

CARNE – LURK

Release Date: 19th November 2025

Just three songs in and already sounding like a band that have ears of experience under their belt, CARNE are back with ‘LURK’, a heavy, brooding shoegaze track packed with riffs. Repetitious lyrics carried by raw cleans and harsh screams drive the track through the full three minutes, ending abruptly and, despite how much of a cliché it is, leave you wanting more. Thankfully, ‘VAST’ and ‘J.U.M’ exist.

Up From Here – Under Your Spell

Release Date: 20th June 2025

There’s something strangely calming about the consistency of pop-punk. Rarely inventive, but pretty much always a good time. American trio Up From Here are only a couple of years into their journey but with how catchy ‘Under Your Spell’ is there’s little doubt they can continue making their name. Just as long as they keep their heads (and DMs) in the right place.

Gina Fritz – Disassociate

Release Date: 13th June 2025

The sound of women continuing to take control of their own destiny within the music industry is, for want of a better phrase, music to our ears. American rocker Gina Fritz is pushing this essential agenda further with songs released over the summer, with ‘Sincerity (Now I See It All So Clear)’, with legends Butcher Babies, and ‘Disassociate’ exhibiting the strength that music puts out into the universe. Bouncy and anthemic, ‘Disassociate’ is a one to sing at the top of your lungs.

Hidden Youth – Upright

Release Date: 16th May 2025

Not exactly new anymore, and that’s our bad for not bringing it to you sooner, ‘Upright’ from British emo-post-hardcore mob is exactly what you want and expect. Melodic guitars hidden behind raw vocals and unashamedly honest lyrics that dive deep into the trials and tribulations of mental health and the impact it has on yourself and those around you. They’ve since released ‘Promises’ to expand their catalogue to three songs of powerful, emotional music.

Media Stres – Narcissistic Rabbit Holes

Release Date: 23rd January 2025

Croatian four piece Media Stres have been plying their trade for 13 years at this point and you can feel from the very introduction of songs like ‘Narcissistic Rabbit Holes’ that they are music lovers making what they love. If you caught the band opening for Clutch you’d be at the merch stand buying something from them immediately. Riffy, raw and packed with energy, this is a band that deserve much love and headbangs.

WIRD – Solitude

Release Date: 11th July 2025

If you’re in the need for some garage-y, grunge-y, filthy riffs with gritty vocals, British rockers WIRD are likely what you need. ‘Solitude’ is the band’s only release of the 2025 and follow a run of singles over the past few years that cement the band as one you would really want to see in a grimy bar where everything sticks to everything else. If you just want to go back to the basics, this London based outfit are just what you need, especially if you’re craving that Nirvana fix.
