New Music Roundup – 10th October 2025

North Atlas – Dawn

Release Date: 21st June 2025

An incredibly atmospheric intro subtly gives way to a catchy beat as electronic-infused vocals and bass circle around. ‘Dawn’ from North Atlas is one of those few songs where the song name is entirely reminiscent of the track. Close your eyes as this one grows through its four minute run time and you’ll be carefully picked up and welcomed into the day. ‘Dawn’ is a song that will have you initially wondering what’s going on, but keeps you entranced throughout.

Jacqueline Tucci – Burning Out

Release Date: 23rd September 2025

A delightfully delicate opening sees ‘Burning Out’ act as a cushion for some heavy lyrics. A song that is, as it sounds, about burning out, Tucci’s addictive vocals bring desperate words to life as a simple beat allows the brain to relax and focus…for a few minutes at least. This is one to put on as loud as you can to allow the catharsis wash over you.

Millpool – The Wind

Release Date: 10th September 2025

A raw and unapoligising alt-rock track from British band Millpool sees ‘The Wind’ comes across as almost desperate in places. A wonderful combination of brass and bass allows the rawness in the vocals to be balanced. Chaos is abundant but in a way that, while not controlled, is appreciated. This song just feels like it will be huge when played live.

Mermaid Island – Freaks

Release Date: 9th September 2025

Moving into an indie-punk vibe, Mermaid Island feel like they’re a throwback to the mid-noughties British music scene…just with a significant amount more personality. Huge vocals, raw drums and frenetic guitars. This is a proper ‘dancing with your glass above your head’ bop of a track.

dune reaper – forever asleep

Release Date: 29th August 2025

‘forever asleep’ from Canadian band dune reaper is everything you’d want from a slow, brooding, grungey track. Powerful choruses with a bass line that you’ll be able to feel in your bones and imperfect vocals that cut through the noise. If you’re standing still when this erupts, you’re at the wrong gig.
