Hell Hotel, a UK-based Emo duo, who are making their mark within the alternative music scene, are back with their fifth single ‘Sweetness’, due to be independently released on 24th April 2025. Following the band’s previous success with tracks such as ‘Chandelier’ and ‘All That Remains’, they are clearly not afraid to show off their raw talent in the form of absolute bangers.
From the get go, ‘Sweetness’ perfectly demonstrates Demi Jay and Tom Maxfield’s contrasting vocals, combining with Maxfield’s heavy guitar riffs to create a captivating yet energetic sound. The track blends melodic 2000’s emo with the hard-hitting edge of modern metalcore while telling the story of inner pain and conflict following a relationship breakdown. Demi Jay’s clean vocals are almost haunting while projecting frustration, numbness and simultaneously proving themselves as storytellers, going from strength to strength, within their lyrics.
With influences such as Holding Absence and Static Dress, whom we can hear reflected in their sound, confirms that the band is undoubtedly on their way to greatness.
