There’s a catchiness on ‘Northern Twang’ that hides how impressive it is that Dirty Blonde are a two-piece making one hell of a sound. From the very start you’re feel yourself being drawn in, the temptation to have a little boogie proving slightly too much to pass up. This is going to go hard when played live.

There’s a desperate tone to ‘Down’ from Citizend, an ominous feeling to the slow, stomping drums and tired, weary vocals. From the very beginning it is clear that a picture is being drawn with words. This Swedish pair feel unique but with strong nods to Nick Cave and Nine Inch Nails. Not sure this is fun, but it’s certainly a rewarding listen.
Casino Havana – Black and White Love

Indie-grunge from British rockers Casino Havana sees ‘Black and White Love’ begin deceivingly sounding akin to Nirvana’s version of ‘Where Did You Sleep Last Night?’. From there the track expands massively, heartfelt vocals are easy to be drawn into and a it’s there that you’re cushioned by expansive guitars. The sort of song that will hold your attention close.

Raw and powerful, ‘Self Sabotage’ is the latest single from Comastatic, an alt-rock band that grow into their sound more and more with each each passing single. Fuzziness at the heart with vocals that are reminscent of some of the biggest names in rock through the 70s and 80s. Funky bass, catchy drums and sensational vocals. What more could you want?!
