With a little under nine months to go until the festival, 2000trees have released the vast majority of their line-up. Taking a break from the usual three mainstage headliners, they’ve decided to go all out for 2025 and book an extra couple, with Thursday and Friday now seeing co-headliners.
Starting with Saturday’s solo headliner, it’s a band whose appearance at Upcote Farm is long, long overdue in Canadian post-hardcore legends Alexisonfire.
Lead vocalist and head screamer from the band, George, quipped “Alexis is very excited to be playing 2000trees next year. Let it be known, by the time we are done playing there will be significantly less trees.”
Joining the band atop the bill on Thursday are Irish hip hop outfit Kneecap, a band who are fast on their way to becoming and alternative household name. They’re joined in closing the stage for the opening day by pop-rockers PVRIS, hot off a huge academy tour earlier this year, getting another chance to witness these anthems is not something to be sniffed at.
Friday sees emo rock stalwarts Taking Back Sunday atop the line-up with prog-rock royalty Coheed And Cambria next to them to create what will be a beautiful couple of hours of singalongs for all.
Elsewhere on the bill there’s social media sensation RØRY, the incredibly fun punks Kid Kapichi, a reunion of 2000trees house artist Frank Turner’s Million Dead project and the usual host of amazing British talent that we’ve come to expect from the home of underground artists from this country and beyond.
James Scarlett, head booker of 2000trees Festival had this to say about the first announcement – “This is quite literally the biggest 2000trees announcement we’ve ever done. We’re delighted to bring some huge classic bands in, that we’ve been after for years, for their long-awaited first ever Trees performances. We’re also honoured to usher in the likes of PVRIS and Kneecap for their first ever UK festival headline performances. Tickets are already flying out, and to say it’s going to be a legendary year is an understatement. Miss 2000trees 2025 at your own peril.”
