American metal outfit The Last King put a pause on the band in 2022 but as with most things these days, you can’t keep a good thing down for long and two and a half years after their last released they have returned with ‘Ancient Master’. With a new album also on the horizon in the form of Culling From Gods, The Last King are showing that they mean business with hugely atmospheric riffs and blistering vocals. ‘Ancient Master’ is huge and a welcome return from a band that have much to offer.

TRUTHTELLER – Salmon

Sticking with alt-rock but heading over to Norwich this time, five-piece TRUTHTELLER are a product of the hectic period of our lives that we’re all still moving on from. The band’s debut EP saw the light of day in 2022 before a string of singles that have increased the profile of a truly exciting prospect. With a sound that is evolving on every release, TRUTHTELLER have their fingers well and truly on the pulse as social commentary combines with punchy riffs and a grimy vibe that will have beer flying.

CANTERVICE – The Masquerade

When you decide to base your music around futuristic, dystopian tales it’s probably best to do so with the backing of a modern sound. Something which American hard rock outfit CANTERVICE have done perfectly with their track ‘The Masquerade’ as electronic sounds combine with absolute party vibes and heavy riffs to make what is the quintessential modern rock track. This is huge and a new album in 2024 will be well received!
FIVER – Frog Song
Release Date: 1st December 2023
Filthy British dirty rockers FIVER have been making a name for themselves in their first year as a band. Their final release came out at the start of the month, half a year after their first release, the EP Cooler. ‘Frog Song’, a delightfully named track, brings a frenetic and energetic energy to proceedings as chaos underlines a catchy yet gritty track. Get on this train early!
