Five years in and Hostile Array are adapting a style that has worked well for them so far. A brave move but something that ensures they’re likely to stay ahead of that feeling of staleness that releasing the same song over and over again can bring.
Bringing in a more electronic sound to proceedings, ‘Scars’, not a Papa Roach cover, is a soaring modern rock track that feels like it truly belongs in today’s changing rock scene. The vocals are still aren’t perfect throughout, though this may have been by design to bring some realness into a track that is heavy on production.
Overall, a fun track that will keep fans on their toes whilst opening up a whole new group of people to the band. A smart move.
