It’s been a big week for Mallory Knox, after marking the return of original vocalist Mikey Chapman with a brand-new single ‘Afterglow’, and now two extremely intimate shows in London and Manchester. We were lucky to be one of the 250 people in this packed out underground venue.
Opening the evening is London based paradise fell, also a big couple of weeks for them after releasing their most recent single ‘in another life’. Taking us on a journey of riffs and softer moments, paradise fell know how to grab an audience full of people who had never seen them before – the ideal opener for this evening.
It’s time for Mallory Knox to take the stage, and those who got to the front early have not left that spot in eagerness for their set. The crowd moves instantly as the band open with fan favourites ‘Ghost in the Mirror’ and ‘Beggars’. Vocalist Mikey takes a moment to take in the room, “I can smell what you all had for dinner”, he shares on the intimacy of this room.
The floor didn’t stop moving, with the temperature constantly on the rise in this small space, and you could tell on the band’s faces that they all genuinely loved being there. The live debut of their release ‘Afterglow’ was eagerly anticipated, and it went down a treat. The crowd already knew the lyrics to sing back, marking a moment for Mallory Knox – they are well and truly back!
Ending their set with one of their most loved tracks, ‘Lighthouse’, marking the end to a stunning night for Mallory Knox fans. This band is what we love about the UK music industry, playing festivals and intimate shows for their loyal fans, and we can’t wait to see what’s next for this new era.
