Slow and moody yet powerful throughout, FREEZEMACHINE‘s latest track transitions through grunge, hard rock, alt-metal and many more in just a few minutes, keeping it tight and imploring a singalong.

Latex Drool – Radioactive

Yes, in parts this does sound a little ‘Mighty Boosh Crimp’-esque, but that’s a positive for anyone that grew up on that surreal comedy. American music makers Latex Drool have released ‘Radioactive’, an electropunk romp that pulls from the 80s as much as it does modern styles. If you make it through the first couple of minutes without dancing then you’re a little dead inside.

Free Zorba The Hooligan – KILLAKILLA

Post-punk-hardcore that’s a little Brummie and a little Parisian sounds like it could be a right mess. Don’t worry though, it’s really not. With vocals a little similar to The Clash and musically coming on like a filthy Turnstile, Free Zorva The Hooligan feel like they’ve landed on a sound that is going to blow the roof off a tent at 2000trees very soon.

Had Sandy – Lightning McSkinup

Brighton’s music scene feels like it’s in the best place it probably ever has been and Had Sandy are contributing to that in their own indie-emo style. taken from Desire Paths, their second EP, ‘Lightning McSkinup’ continues the amusing modern trend of creating puns from popular names and characters. There’s a delightfully British undertone to those Americanised emo vocals that is almost captivating.

Chontaraz – SCREAM (feat. Sakis Tolis

Fans of the likes of Avatar (the band, not those films) will find some comfort in Chontaraz. Soaring and pounding in equal measure, ‘SCREAM’ features melodic guitars backed by drums that will have you stomping and mixed vocals that freshen the track up regularly.

Run The Riot – Falling Down

Punk-rock from the US always hits a little different. Whether it’s because it usually comes from parts of the country that are a little warmer year round or because you have to write upbeat music when you’re probably minutes away from being shot, who knows. Run The Riot‘s ‘Falling Down’ opens frantic and heavy and keeps the former going throughout. Fans of ADTR will be having a lovely time with this one.

Red Steel – All Night

Merging catchy rock with what could well be ABBA is something that seems to be becoming more and more relevant and Norwegian rockers Red Steel, armed with a new vocalist, are back with ‘All Night’. Fans of 70s hair metal and 90s pop will enjoy the choruses and everyone will get behind the sheer fun of the song.

Arriving Home – Rise Again

Turning time back to the beginning of the millennium are German metalcore mob Arriving Home with ‘Rise Again’. The five-piece have begun making a strong name for themselves in mainland Germany and with tracks like this one it’s easy to see that continue. Vocally impressive and combined with relentless drumming, whether that be during the blast beats or not. Let the catharsis run through you.
