Opening the stage tonight are As Everything Unfolds, a hometown show for the group. After an incredibly tough year of losing their friend and drummer, they come back with full force supporting Bury Tomorrow on this tour, and what a supportive and welcoming crowd to have. Charlie Rolfe’s clean vocals and gutteral screams are strong throughout the set, as they play through songs from their most recent release Ultraviolet. The whole bands energy is contagious as they bound across the stage, as the first crowd surfers make their way over the barrier, they’re the ideal opener for this tour.

Australian metalcore band Thornhill are next on stage. With the crowd warmed up, pits immediately start to open up as heavy riffs flood the room. With only half an hour to win the audience over, they blast through their set containing singles they’ve released this year, ‘nerv’ and ‘Obsession’, as well as tracks from their previous albums The Dark Pool and Heroine. They’re heavy and energetic, and the crowd lap it up. Having been a band for a few years now, they’re ones to watch and add to your playlists.

Bursting on to the stage with ‘Ghost Of Me’, giving the crowd the sense of the intensity and power of this set, which is mainly tracks from their recently released self-titled album. The vocals from Sean Harmanis and Alex Reade compliment eachother perfectly as the band flow through their set at full speed.

Their set is faultless, and the crowd agrees as they pile over the barrier and keep the pits moving throughout. If you haven’t heard of Make Them Suffer, this is a band you need to be aware of, they’re making strong moves and you don’t want to miss out.

Bury Tomorrow

Bury Tomorrow hit the stage for the main event, it’s their largest headliner to date and you can feel the energy in the room. The fast and heavy riffs of ‘Abandon Us’ delivers a strong start to the set,  with vocalist Dan Winter-Bates rasping screams filling the room with absolute ease. Dan’s interactions with the crowd and his mannerisms makes this headliner feel so personal even though there’s over 3,000 people in the room. The band play with such passion, you can tell how much they are all loving this tour.

The set is mainly filled with tracks from their most recent album The Seventh Sun, and most recent singles ‘Villain Arc’ and ‘What If I Burn’ make their way on to the set giving a flavour of future set lists. Tom Prendergast’s clean vocalist are a beautiful addition to the mix and work so well live.

As Dan works for the NHS, it wouldn’t be a Bury Tomorrow gig without talking openly about mental health and how important music, particularly live music is for people. It’s an emotional speech, it’s clear how important these shows are, and what these shows are doing for their fans.

The show production and stage layout fill the stage perfectly, and allows all band members to show off their energy.

The set ends with popular track ‘Choke’, with hard-hitting drum beats forcing you to bang your head and grating screams making your spine tingle, what a way to end their London headliner.
