Slightest Clue – Why Can’t I Call You

Release Date: 11th January 2024

With their first new track of the year in the form of ‘Why Can’t I Call You’, Slightest Clue are doing everything they can to hype up their February ’24 EP, Carousel. The Canadian outfit are channeling the moodiest of all indie on this track, the final to see the world before Carousel drops, with a bass-y vibe that will keep listeners on their toes as it transitions through various sections seamlessly.

Black Budget – Whistleblower

Release Date: 12th January 2024

Sticking in Canada, but moving to a more furious punk style, Black Budget are writing songs abut paranoia and propaganda. ‘Whistleblower’ builds through the initial 30-seconds before vocals launch us into a modern twist on classic punk. The track is downright filthy, echoey vocals over the grittiest of guitars give the song a unique feel. A strong track from a growing band.

PELTZ – True Room

Release Date: 29th December 2023

American alt-rockers PELTZ come up next with a delightfully soft and almost effortlessly beautiful track in ‘True Room’. The song is the California born, Nashville based band’s first and is so nicely polished that that almost feels like it can’t be true. The three-piece have put together a song that is musically simple but emotionally complex and will be a sobering listen.

Omenkiller – The Disrespect

Release Date: 13th January 2024

Heading over to South Georgia, USA now for metalcore band Omenkiller and ‘The Disrespect’, the band’s first track for six months or so and one that is sure to put those neck muscles to good use. The song is bruising for a few minutes, riffs tumble out of it and the vocals are intense. The highlight of the track comes in the ridiculous breakdown and accompanying squeals after a few minutes. Get those face gurning.
