Hailing from London Night Theives are an alt-rock band with a bit more about them than your average version. From the intro it sounds like they’re going for a more generic sound but it is Jess’ vocals that set them apart really.
‘Numero Uno’ is a song about looking after yourself and prioritising the most important things and for Night Theives the most important thing are those vocals. They aren’t perfect, but it’s that imperfection that elevates the song up several levels.
Musically ‘Numero Uno’ transitions from riffs rock to a softer, more considered approach easily and relies on the whole band pulling in the same direction throughout.
