Just a couple of days ago Germany rockers Sandkamper released their latest song, ‘5 Minuten Ruhe’, to the world. It’s a song about just needing those ‘5 minutes’ to yourself every now and then. Clocking in at four and a half minutes, they’ve done a good job of giving you 30 seconds to find the song.
Lyrically all in German, ‘5 Minuten Ruhe’ tracks a slow pace throughout, driven by large but chugging but not overpowering riffs. Every second of the song feels deliberate, nothing is happening by accident and the atmosphere that creates is one that clears your mind with no effort.
Sandkamper have nailed their goal completely. This is 100% a song you need to listen to whilst doing nothing else at all. It demands it.
