Former Motörhead guitarist ‘Fast’ Eddie Clarke has passed away aged 67.
The news was broken on Motörhead’s Facebook page, saying;
“We are devastated to pass on the news we only just heard ourselves earlier tonight…Edward Allan Clarke – or as we all know and love him Fast Eddie Clarke – passed away peacefully yesterday.”
Clarke joined Motörhead in 1967 and alongside drummer Phil ‘Philthy Animal’ Taylor and frontman Lemmy Kilmister formed the classic line-up of Motörhead, releasing classic albums such as Ace of Spades and Overkill, as ell as the iconic live album No Sleep ‘Til Hammersmith.
Clarke was also the last surviving member of the classic line up, with Taylor dying in November 2015, followed by Lemmy a month later in December.
Our thoughts go out to the friends and family of Eddie Clarke. Thank you for the music.
