Bloodstock 2018 – The Headliners

Bloodstock 2018 is shaping up to be the biggest yet, with the final headliner being announced this past weekend. Boasting the title of the UK’s biggest independent metal festival, Bloodstock 2018 will be taking place August 9th-12th and tickets are on sale now!

Friday – Judas Priest

After years of fans begging, the bona fide metal legends, Judas Priest are finally heading to Bloodstock. Boasting nearly 50 years together, Judas Priest’s appearance is long overdue and they are no doubt going to show everyone why they are called legends. If there is anyone who can get the Bloodstock crowd screaming it is Rob Halford and with classics such as Painkiller as part of your back catalogue it isn’t hard to see why. This isn’t one to be missed, the mighty Priest, finally at Bloodstock!

Saturday – Gojira

Continuing their trend of helping push newer bands up to festival headliner status, Bloodstock have given their Saturday headline spot to the mighty Gojira. Hailing from Bayonne, France and coming off the back of a Grammy nomination for their most recent album, the critically acclaimed Magma, this will be Gojira’s first headline slot at a UK festival. As we saw in 2017 with Ghost’s exceptional performance, Gojira are set to fly the flag for the new breed of heavy metal and having last played the festival in 2016, we can’t wait to see what they bring to headline!

Sunday – Nightwish

If you were to think of the Bloodstock alumni, Finnish symphonic metal legends Nightwish would not be far from thought. Bloodstock 2003 saw Nightwish perform their first show on UK soil and in 2018 they are returning to Bloodstock for their third headline appearance. the crowds know what to expect from Nightwish, visually stunning and with a back catalogue as expansive as theirs, this set feels like a band coming home. There is no better way to close what is sure to be and insane weekend of metal debauchery.
