Label: Metal Mercenary

Bad Solution are set to release their debut album The War Within on August 4th. Packed full of massive riffs and choruses to match, Bad Solution are definitely a band to keep an eye on.

The overall sound of The War Within relates very well to bands at the heavier end of the radio rock scene. Listening to Nothing, you could imagine this being on a Five Finger Death Punch album and regardless of your opinion on the band, that is a great achievement for a band releasing their first album. On the other side of the spectrum, this album delivers more soft radio friendly songs such as Echoes of the Cry which demonstrate a real diversity and the skills of the band as a whole.

Thematically, the album is quite something. Focusing on loss anger and sadness, this album has the potential to really connect with some people. How the album flows is very well thought out and there doesn’t seem to be a moment on the album where it just drops.

Being honest, it isn’t the most creative album. It would be nice to see the band flex their creative muscles a bit more. A lot of the styles and sounds are things we have heard before from other bands. However, I don’t think that this album strives to be a unique, never before heard style but instead seeks to build upon a foundation already laid down by a lot of great bands and it is there that the band succeeds.

So look at it this way, if you want a unique sounding, never before heard, 100% original band, then The War Within probably isn’t for you. Saying that, most bands probably aren’t for you. But if you want a band that are building strongly on what is already there and doing what they know and love with passion, then this album is for you.
